Teaching
Alice has been an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher for nearly two decades. Alice began teaching the clarinet in 2004 within the Corsham Windband Association, motivating younger people to learn and enjoy music which also lead to conducting of youth ensembles. Since this point Alice has entered numerous students for ABRSM exams, the majority gaining marks of merit or distinction. Alice believes that this has been largely down to the way one practices and finding enjoyment in music, as well as fun technical exercises to create ease in playing. Alice has recently become a teacher within the Chiltern Music Academy and enjoys helping the ensembles shine.
Alice has also expanded her teaching to include GCSE and A-level music tuition and in 2007 began teaching the cello and saxophone. She also enjoys teaching adults, who wish to begin an instrument or that are fully accomplished musicians.
Alice’s qualifications include a diploma in Clarinet performance, Grade 8 Cello, Grade 8 Saxophone, a CertHE in music from the Guildhall School of Music, a BMus in music from the University of Surrey and an MMus from the Royal Academy of Music.
